We have been using Sentinel for some time now and really are pleased with it. We have multiple offices and you can imagine being a temp service have claims coming in all the time. We first started with Excel and realized we needed something more. There was not much on the market, at the time, but did purchase a different software which was OK, but still did not provide the reports we needed to pass the information along to our offices. I learned that Mike was creating a product and was interested because he had a background in the unemployment industry so I figured he would understand what was needed to put a good product together.
What we particularly like about Sentinel is its ease of use. It did not require paying for training or a huge learning curve. The Sentinel Team was able to transfer all our claims from the database we were using into Sentinel with little if any glitches and we were able to begin using it right away. It organized our claims, easily identified the claims we needed to protest, provided reports to determine which claims needed follow up and provided reports we could send to our offices so our staff know what associates we need to get back to work pronto to avoid paying more benefits than necessary. Of those claims that we can protest our win ratio is 96% in Michigan and I believe a big part of this is because the information is right in front of us and we can get on it timely.
We are completely satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something to help control their UE costs.
In closing, I would like to just give you my impression of Mike and Scott. I have been doing workers compensation claims for Manpower since 1987 and took on the UE Dept in 2001. I have worked with many people in many scenarios but those two guys are really great. They are responsive, reactive, and timely. Great guys to work with and if there is something that is needed they get right on it. Tech support is very important because we have deadlines.

As a municipal pool that administers an Unemployment Compensation program for cities, towns, schools and counties, we process about 1,500 claim notifications per year. We converted to Sentinel about a year ago and have been very happy with both the software and the people.
We’ve found the product to be very user-friendly in that it has sufficient fields to track all of the data that is pertinent to a claim, but without the clutter of a lot of unused fields. The software is also user customizable in terms of defining separation, disposition and protest codes, as well as creating user defined fields. Report formatting can also be tailored to the user’s needs.
Sentinel employees worked diligently with our previous provider to convert all of our claims over to the new system. They then installed the software and data on our servers and provided thorough training to our users. They have continued to make upgrades to the software and have encouraged our feedback. They truly have listened to our suggestions to improve their product and have kept us informed of new features.
